Last year, we began our preparation in trying to cannonise Jean Claude Colin (Fr Founder) and one of the prayers that we recited through his intercession was the prayer for the complete healing of Br Mua. Br Mua Saurava passed away last week in Taveuni after enduring pains and sufferings for a very long time. Lately, I watched a movie about Samurai, which speaks a lot to me about how life should be lived rather than narrated. When the most respected Samurai chief passed away, his friend took his sword and presented it to the Emperor as a sign of respect. The emperor asked him how did this respected man died and in response his friend told the emperor, "I will not tell you how he died, but how he lived." Perhaps we may wonder whether our prayers that was offered for Br Mua were answered. Yes, I believe that our prayers were answered because Br Mua was able to live a little longer witnessing to us his love for God as he endures his pain joyfully. We should only look at how he lived his life for inspiration. Fr Suni Halapio was the main celebrant during Br Mua's funeral mass and was concelebrated by some of his confreres here in Fiji. May God Bless our brother and invites him into his eternal Kingdom. Rest in peace, brother. |
